A Poem For You

For Rayceen Pendarvis

A poem for you

Well what would be more fitting that a shameless plug

A hand reaching out

Giving out

For the living

Out

In the loud of day

And fiercest night

A poem

To paint decades

A mirror to play echo

Repeating successes and falls

To spell triumph in word and phrase

For you

As penance for the gifts shared

Community tilled

‘Til soil burst for a happy pair

A sexy snap back of taut bodies and silken gyration

A celebration of a Queen Father

Godmother of the gown

Gracing all in her presence

With passion and truth

A poem for you

Can only sound like justice

Will fight for it’s meal

And yours

Should know nourishment and rest

And yet

A poem for you

Is not you

Only tokens for the fair

A well wish and thank you

A gift; portions of what you truly deserve.
